The Gong Research Group at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor develops soft electronic materials and bioelectronic devices utilizing transdisciplinary approach that unites physics, chemistry, and engineering. Our vision is to develop the next generations of electronics that are soft, smart, and more interactive, and advance the technology in biomedical sensing, soft robotics, energy harvesting and storage. Postdoctoral Researchers
We are hiring post-doctoral fellows (1~2 positions available) with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
nanomaterials, quantum dots, and/or organic semiconductors, polymer synthesis
electronics (LED, photodetector, pressure sensor) devices fabrications, characterization, and device physics
automation of material synthesis, optoelectroics device fabrication, and characterization
We encourage candidates with demonstrated expertise to apply. Successful candidates will be provided the freedom and guidance to initiate new research directions, be supported to conduct and publish high impact research, and develop mentoring skills while working with the graduate students in the group.

Ph.D. Researchers
We have openings (2~4 positions available) for doctoral students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics, Macromolecular Science & Engineering, and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. Prior experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
Synthesis of inorganic quantum dots/organic semiconductors
Electronic and mechanic study of soft materials
Optoelectronic and/or bioelectronic device fabrication
Strong written and oral communication skills, time management skills, and desire to work in research teams
