Our Mission
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .The NEXT generation of electronics is going to be soft, smart, and more interactive. Their capacity of interfacing with our body enables them to collect and transmit the data of biological activity with the high performance (e.g. accuracy, speed) which are unimaginable before. This is going to change the landscape of healthcare, robotics, agriculture, and beyond.
The Gong Research Group at the University of Michigan is developing the soft electronic materials and devices. We utilize a transdisciplinary approach that unites physics, chemistry, and engineering. Our goal is to innovate soft electronic materials (e.g. nanomaterials, polymers, perovskites) from the molecular level, understand their fundamental properties using advanced spectroscopies, and advance the next generation of bio-electronics for the applications in biomedical sensing, soft robotics, energy harvesting and storage.
